A One Day Festival

SATURDAY 27 SEPTEMBER at SANDGATE TOWN HALL 11am - 4pm

3 CONCERTS & A CONVERSATION

Indulge in a day of music like no other. Be swept away by the beauty of works by Richard Strauss, Arvo Pärt, Melody Eötvös, Joe Twist, Benjamin Britten and other heroes of the music world, old and new.

But it’s not just a concert or three and a lunch with a bunch.....it’s an experience that will redefine your perception of music, give you goosebumps and take you to places you’d never dreamed of before.

Be prepared to be surrounded, to take part, to watch from afar, to listen in the dark, to encompass and be encompassed by stunning music in the beautiful surrounds of the historic Sandgate Town Hall.

11AM CONCERT ONE - IMMERSE
Arvo Pärt Cantus in Memoriam Britten
New work by an emerging composer to be selected by Melody Eötvös
Joe Twist Lament for cello and choir, featuring Trish Dean & The Australian Voices
Benjamin Britten Simple Symphony, featuring Ensemble Q, Ensemble Cherubim and Mini Q 

12 noon lunch break - BYO or enjoy one of the many local cafes and restaurants

1PM CONCERT TWO - RECLAIMING THE SPIRIT
Sarah Hopkins - Reclaiming the spirit, version for solo cello and harmonic whirlies 
Wilfred Lehmann Theme and Variations for clarinet quintet 
Melody Eötvös Once to Find for string trio, interspersed with works sung by The Australian Voices

2.15PM CONVERSATION with wine and refreshments
Interview with Melody Eötvös, Joe Twist, Paul Dean and young composers

3PM CONCERT THREE - METAMORPHOSIS
This concert has optional sensory components - blindfolds will be provided
New work by an emerging composer 
Gerald Finzi Adagio from clarinet concerto
Richard Strauss Metamorphosen, featuring Sophie Rowell, Trish Dean, Phoebe Russell and members of Ensemble Cherubim

4PM FINISH

Festival passes are available for $129 adult/$99 concession/$39 student
Individual concert tickets will be released mid 2025, if there are still seats available. Individual prices will be $45/$35/$20
