Sunday April 19 - When the World Was at War
Five composers whose lives were destroyed by war are brought together in this moving tribute to the beauty of their compositions at a time of complete chaos and pain. Contrary to obvious conclusion, this is a program of poignance and hope rather than pain, and shows the human spirit at its very best. Joining us is the phenomenal German Canadian violinist Annette-Barbara Vogel.
Program:
Schulhoff - Concertino for flute, viola and bass
Ravel - Le Tombeau de Couperin
Krasa - Passacaglia & Fugue
