About Ensemble Q

Picture

In 2015 two musical powerhouses and workaholics joined forces, and Ensemble Q was born. Out of a desire to create an ensemble of exceptional players and wonderful people, and to create pathways for the most exciting young musicians in Australia, co-Artistic Directors Paul Dean and Trish O'Brien's enthusiasm and skill quickly gained momentum and attracted some of Australia's and the world's most exceptional musicians. Thanks to the support of Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, Ensemble Q was given the title Ensemble in Residence. Rapidly becoming one of Australia's premier ensembles, Ensemble Q is known for their dynamic programming and exceptionally high standard of playing. Ensemble Q brings the little black book of household names in Australian music together to create world class performances, charged with electricity and excitement.
A groundbreaking mentorship program shares this excitement with future generations of exceptional musicians, delighting audiences and guiding emerging young musicians to greater heights.
