Brent Miller | Percussion
Brent has an international profile with a range of ensembles including the Melbourne, Adelaide and Queensland Symphony Orchestras, Orchestra Victoria, Malaysian Philharmonic, Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa, Singapore Symphony, Auckland Philharmonia, Sydney Camerata, Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, Camerata of St John’s, Australian Romantic and Classical Orchestra, Orchestra of the Antipodes, Philharmonia Australia and the YouTube Symphony Orchestra. Through his freelance engagements, he has had the privilege of performing alongside artists such as Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, Diana Krall, Tim Minchin, Lang Lang, Sinead O’Conner, Kate Ceberano, The Wiggles, Anthony Callea, the Hilltop Hoods, Kate Miller-Heidke and Gurrumul Yunupingu. A passionate educator, Brent is an AMEB examiner and frequently in demand for tutoring, workshops and masterclasses. He is determined to express the musical capabilities of percussion instruments to the fullest degree through orchestral, chamber and solo performances - most recently, commissioning ground-breaking new works for solo timpani with over 100 compositions being written for him.
Brent is currently Acting Convenor of Percussion at the University of Melbourne, and Acting Principal Timpani with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
