Trish Dean features in Ciaccona, an album of mostly solo cello works based on the Ciaccona form. Technically the Ciaccona (Chaconne) is a set of variations based upon a descending bass-line. Emotionally it creates one of the most moving forms in classical music.

Tracks include:

  1. Bach Chaconne, from the Violin Partita No 2 in D minor, BWV 1004, arranged by Trish Dean
  2. Guiseppe Colombi - Chiacona a Basso Solo
  3. William Walton - Passacaglia for Solo Cello
  4. Silvius Leopold Weiss - Ciacona, arranged for solo cello by Trish Dean
  5. Paul Dean - Chaconne for Solo Cello (in the time of Covid 19)
  6. Benjamin Britten - Ciaccona (From Suite No 2 for solo cello)
  7. Krzysztof Penderecki - Ciaccona in Memoriam Giovanni Paolo II, with Natsuko Yoshimoto, violin
  8. Sally Beamish - The Wise Maid

Recorded in July 2020 at the Queensland Conservatorium Theatre

Engineer - David Spearritt

Producer - Paul Dean
