In 2019, Ensemble Q, supported by Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, is holding the first Queensland International Chamber Music Competition. Entry is open to a wide variety of ensembles with a maximum age of 35, and is designed to give incredible opportunities to talented young and emerging artists.

A panel of esteemed musicians from across the country have been selected to adjudicate the competition, and prizes will be offered in a variety of categories.

The semifinal and final rounds are open to the public, and the overall winners will open the July 21 Ensemble Q series concert. The final round takes place in the exquisite Conservatorium Theatre, which is widely hailed as one of Australia's best chamber music halls.
